Why did Jesus have to come?
Gal 4:4  But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, (NIV)
Gal 4:5  to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. (NIV)
Gal 4:6  Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out,
"Abba, Father."
Gal 4:7  So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an
heir. (NIV)

v. 4 – Why did Jesus have to come to the earth?
-        Why is it important that he was ‘born of a woman’?
-        Why is it important that he was ‘born under law’?
v. 5 – What does redeem mean?  What does it mean for us?
v. 5-7 – The scripture says that we are ‘sons’.  What does that mean for us?

He came to become one of us so he could pay for our sins.
He had to be born of a woman in order to become human.
He was subject to the law, so that he could satisfy the requirements of the law – death as a penalty for
sins – in our place.

Redeem means to exchange one thing for another – to make free with money – or to pay a ransom.
He has paid the price to make us free.

We have become God’s children through Jesus’ redemption –
-        we have the rights of children
-        we are no longer slaves (of sin or satan)
-        we can call God our Father
-        we have been adopted into His family
-        we have an inheritance from God (spiritual)
