Our Study
We hear much talk today of revival coming - of the Kingdom of God being established on the earth.
But Bible prophecy seems to tell us that things are going to get worse, not better. We do hope revival
will come. We need a fresh touch, especially before things get worse. We need a mighty move of
God to sweep over us so we can rescue as many souls as possible before the coming disasters
prophesied here in Revelation and in other passages.
Revelation shows us that God is actually the one who is ultimately in control.
There are three main divisions of the book:
· Part one is the Church Age (1-3) - the age in which we now live.
· Part two covers from the Rapture of the church to the Second Com-ing of Jesus (4-19) - this is
the disastrous time of tribulation upon the earth.
· Part three is the Millennium and beyond (20-22) - the future of be-lievers.
Revelation is filled with symbols. We must remember that John was taken, in the Spirit, to future
events that must have been very confus-ing to him. He describes what he sees the best he can.
Much of it is hard to comprehend because of the symbolism, but that is no reason to shy away from it.
We must read and understand the basic truths presented here, especially since we are living in the
times revealed here.
There are 404 verses in Revelation. 265 of them contain quotes drawn from the Old Testament.
John had a good knowledge of the Word, as we all should.
