Around the Throne
· 9. After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and
kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white
robes, and palms in their hands;
Multitude before the throne – martyrs (Tribulation Saints)
Once God has sealed his 144,000, the whole world will hear his mes-sage. Multitudes will believe and
be saved. The Antichrist and his False Prophet will be furious and try to stop the revival by forcing
new believers to turn away from the faith. They will deny people food and medicine. Executions will
be frequent and numerous. The number of martyrs will be more than any man can count.
The martyrs will stand in the presence of Jesus before the throne of God.

· 10-11. And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and [about] the elders and the
four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
Everyone in the heaven will participate in the heavenly worship service.
· 12-13 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and hon-our, and
power, and might, [be] unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered,
saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
One of the 24 elders will ask two questions: Who are they, and Where did they come from? He
already knows the answer, but he will ask them anyway to make sure everyone else does.
· 14. And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out
of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
The elders’ answer tells us what the 144,000 will be preaching. They will preach the blood of the
Lamb. The fact that these 144,000 are Is-raelites will not alter their message.
· 15. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple:
and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
Protected by God –
I John 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself,
and that wicked one toucheth him not. (AV)
Psalm 121
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD [is] thy keeper: the LORD
[is] thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The
LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall pre-serve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy
going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (AV)
This is a very special promise. On earth, the saved will not be safe anywhere. They will either starve,
die of disease, or e murdered. There will be no way to escape the clutches of the Antichrist. Sud-
denly, they will find themselves in the throne room of God, face-to-face with Jesus, surrounded by
angels, clothed in white robes, and pro-tected by God.
· 16. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor
any heat.
The Tribulation Saints will face hunger, thirst, death from starvation and poisoned water, burning by
the blazing sun, and suffocation by scorching heat. Once they arrive in heaven, though, it will never
hap-pen again. They will be in the fortress, the place a refuge of the Al-mighty God. It is a place of
constant protection that cannot be breached. This is God’s promise.
· 17. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto
living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. (AV)
The saints are destined for a great deal of weeping before they depart this earth. But when they get
to heaven, God will wipe them away.
