Ezekiel's Vision of the Rebirth of Israel
Eze 4:4 Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: [according] to
the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.
Eze 4:5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three
hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
Eze 4:6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the
iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
Each day represents one biblical year.
In prophecy, specific times are given in great detail for Israel, but never for the church. God has hidden
this time for himself. We can figure the timing on many events relating to Israel, but of the church, such as
the Rapture, there is no time given.
This prophecy gives us 390 years of captivity (or iniquity), then added another 40 years for Judah,
equaling 430 years. It is interesting to note that the first captivity of Israel, in Egypt, was 430 years. The
second captivity of Israel, in Babylon, was 70 years. Keep that in mind.
Historians have not found this 430 years, nor a 390 year period of third captivity. But they have found this
- God told Israel that if they did not repent after being punished, He would multiply her previous
punish-ments by 7 times.
Le 26:18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your
sins.
Le 26:21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more
plagues upon you according to your sins.
Le 26:23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
Le 26:24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
After the seventy years captivity, Israel did not truly repent. So this 390 years promised captivity multiplied
by 7 = 2520 years. The end of the Babylonian captivity would have occurred in the spring of 536 BC.
From this date, 2520 biblical years of 360 = 907,200 days. Historians calculate the date from the end of
the Babylonian captivity to the end of the 2520 additional years of punishment to come to May 14,1948 -
the exact date of Jewish independence and the rebirth of the state of Is-rael. This is the first time since the
days of Solomon that Israel has taken its place as a sovereign, independent state among the nations of
the world.
