Grace
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
I want you to know that your God’s commitment to you is not based on your worthiness. His commitment to
you is based on His love for you.
Most religious beliefs are based on the idea that you get what you deserve. God will accept you if you are
good enough. If you fol-low the guidelines and keep the laws strictly enough, then God will reward you. If
not, then God will punish you.
The truth is - God did not create us just to serve Him. He created us to love Him.
Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do
justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (AV)
He created us for relationship with Him. This is made clear at Je-sus’ visit to Mary and Martha’s house.
Martha was busy serving. Mary sat at Jesus’ feet giving Him her full attention. Jesus said Mary had
chosen the best thing.
God does not want your hands – He wants your heart. He wants your obedience, but his commitment to
you is not based on your obedience, but upon his grace.
Certainly you can reject His love, you can walk away from His sal-vation, but He will never stop loving you.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor princi-palities, nor
powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be
able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Je-sus our Lord.
Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Jesus continues His comments:
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose
nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
God’s will is that all of us succeed in life and spend eternity in re-lationship with Him.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is … not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
We continue:
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and be-lieveth on him, may
have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
This is the simple truth – believe on Jesus – put your total faith in Him – and you are promised everlasting
life. No other prophet can make that promise. All others say, “If you can do this or that, you can be close
to God.” Others say, “Here are the rules. Follow them and you can have life.” Jesus says, “Just follow
me. I will get you there.” He can give us what we can never earn on our own.
Now hear this! Jesus said:
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the
last day.
I want you to know that you are not here on your own. God has brought you here. It is all part of His plan
that you are here today. He has guided your steps.
If you know Jesus, it is because He has revealed himself to you. He did that because He loves you so
much.
Finally, He said:
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for
ever…
Man does live by bread alone – not by the bread of earth – but by the bread of heaven – by Jesus Christ.
He will provide all that you need.
